I'd love to see more of these conversations with Dr Mark Delp. Especially on this subject, as it becomes more and more relevant with time. The consuming digital world can undoubtedly cast a veil upon the heart, and blur one's inner sight. We have to learn to unplug, to walk away at times and keep a necessary balance. We must learn to find our equilibrium so that we don't lose ourselves entirely.

How to be conservative: 1. Pick a problem in society 2. Instead of seeking a solution, point to the problems with the people trying to solve the problem 3. Scream out to world "look at these peoples problems!" 4. Use that to justify doing NOTHING about the original problem in society 5. *bonus* use this logic to justify supporting the people actually making the problem worse! Did I get this right?

How could there is no hierarchy in Fiqh? It is so obvious, there is hierarcy , eq. in the source of Islamic Law....in the qualification of jurist or fuqoha... many more....maybe the Prof Muhammad thought that the hierarcy is only political... in fact it is not. So hierarchy is important....
